Overview

A two-and-one-half-day seminar is held each year in order to provide the membership and guests with information on state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and administrative techniques.

Each seminar meets the training and educational demands of the membership by keeping pace with the changing work environment as it is affected by merging and emerging disciplines. Technology has the most obvious impact on how information is generated, processed, managed, stored, retrieved, and disseminated. Proper training and educational opportunities for the novice and reinforcement for the seasoned practitioner are the keys for successful career development.

The seminar has been held in various locations such as Santa Barbara, San Diego, Las Vegas, Morro Bay, Lake Arrowhead, Oxnard, and Palm Springs.

Guest speakers have covered topics such as in-plant vs. commercial printing, laser printers, technical publication, personal computers, production control, electronic printing, office automation, stress management, and resistance to change.

Technical demonstrations of various equipment at the seminar site, tours to nearby printing facilities and/or educational institutions provide additional scope to the IGA seminar experience.
